Mecklenburg County is hosting free workshops on the county’s FY24 budget on Feb. 16, West Charlotte Recreation Center; Feb. 22, Eastway Regional Recreation Center; March 1, Hickory Grove Recreation Center; March 8, Naomi Drenan Recreation Center; March 15, Matthews Sportsplex; March 18 via Zoom. Tara Vannoy, who was part of a panel at the Forum in 2021 about assistance available to struggling households, left a brochure on Blue Ridge Community Action’s Weatherization Program that services Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union Counties.
