Do your part. VOTE!

October 20, 2020 I am voting because

Dr. Araminta Stone Johnston in 2015, in front of the building where her grandfather and father practiced law as James Stone & Sons in Oxford, Miss.

By Dr. Araminta Johnston

I’ve voted (already by absentee ballot!) because I treasure our democracy, imperfect though it is.

I voted (already!) because as citizens, voting is one of the easiest things we can do to make our country better.

If you treasure democracy too, do your part. VOTE!

Dr. Araminta Johnston is a retired professor of religious studies and ethics, having taught both at UNC Charlotte and Queens University of Charlotte. A native of Mississippi, she has been in North Carolina since 1966. Both of her daughters graduated from West Charlotte High. She holds a BA from Duke, an MA from Wake Forest and a Ph.D. in religion from Duke University.
