Vote. Vote. I will. Vote. It is important. Let no one stop you from voting.
Dr. Blanche Penn has focused much of her life on what the late John Lewis called “good trouble.” She is a regular presence at local government meetings. She’s advocated for families made homeless by unscrupulous landlords. She has been a PTA president, recreation center director, founder of a cheerleading squad for seniors. She’s run for school board. Her Sept. 28 book recounts her struggle to go back to school late in life. Her BA was in theater from UNCC in 2013, folllowed by educational leadership degrees from Concordia University in Wisconsin.
