Forum invitations had gone out to people involved in contested races on the March 3 primary ballot to appear this morning. Then the legislative leadership called the incumbents back for votes this morning, so all the incumbents drove over to Raleigh.
For this reason or any number of others, the old standard Forum fare of having all candidates running for the same office in the room on the same day to allow Forum participants better to compare and contrast those running – those days seem to be mostly gone.
Appearing this morning were:
- Laura Anthony, who with Roderick Davis is challenging incumbent Mujtaba Mohammed in N.C. Senate District 38 Democratic primary. The winner faces Republican Jack Brosch in the fall;
- Jonathan Peebles,. who with Leroy Dean and Anthony Forman is challenging incumbent Becky Carney in the N.C. House District 102 Democratic primary. The winner faces Republican Kyle Kirby in the fall.
