Candidates for Council DIstricts 2, 4, 6

October 8, 2019 Candidates & Ballots

From left: Renee Perkins Johnson, Tariq Bokhari, Brandon Pierce, Malcolm Graham and George Dunlap. Dunlap is not on the ballot but was at the Forum to make a case for the ballot question about raising the sales tax.

Oct. 8, 2019

Four of the six candidates on the November ballot for City Council Districts 2, 4 and 6 were at the Forum today to discuss their platforms and their backgrounds.

County Commissioners Chair George Dunlap made a pitch for support of the ballot question that would add a quarter-cent sales tax to boost community spending on arts, schools and parks. The candidates took that opportunity to express their views on that issue as well.

In the video below, presentations begin at minute 10:30. The Q&A begins at minute 20:25. Dunlap’s presentation and the questions and comments about the ballot question are in the video below, but are on a separate page here.
