Kenny Smith represents District 6 today on Charlotte City Council. He’s running for mayor. One of his opponents in the Sept. 12 primary was present; one was not.
Tariq Bokhari is running to replace Smith on Council. His primary opponent was not present. Running as a Republican, he lost to Patsy Kinsey in District 1 in 2007.
And then there’s Gary Dunn, one of Smith’s opponents in the primary. Dunn told the Forum audience much about his family’s business and that he likes to run for office to raise issues and contribute to the debate. Dunn’s last presentation at the Forum was in 2013 when he ran for mayor as a Democrat. He’s run for N.C. Governor both as a Republican (1992) and a Democrat (2012). He moved from Philadelphia to Charlotte in 1958, attending East Meck and getting a GED from CPCC.
The presentations begin at minute 10:15. The Q&A begins at minute 27:10.
