Dawn Hill, Dr. Yolanda Holmes and David Jessup teamed up. As in bringing three teams together to present a place for thousands of children to see something of careers they might never otherwise consider.

Hill heads the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program. Holmes works for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Jessup, after a Teach for America stint, founded a nonprofit working to end the digital divide.

This morning’s presentation focused on the Charlotte Career Discovery Day, which will be held Thursday, April 20 at the Park Expo on Independence Boulevard.

The presentation was preceded by a dramatic presentation on Black History Month performed by Holmes and her children Brooke and Darrell.
