Update on West Charlotte Rec Center renovation

February 24, 2015 Forum & Commentary

Feb. 24, 2015

The West Charlotte Recreation Center will be closing soon for a thorough renovation. The Forum will relocate to Ivory/Baker Recreation Center off Oaklawn Avenue at 1920 Stroud Park Court.

Tari Cottman, facility manager of the West Charlotte center, offered an update today of the plans for the renovation.

While Cottman said the renovation might actually start after the current planned date of May 5, park and recreation officials are relocating current users to other locations by the end of April.

The renovation of the 1964 West Charlotte building will take 9 to 12 months.

The Forum expects to be at West Charlotte through April 26, then move to Ivory-Baker for the May 5 Forum.

Below is  a video of Cottman’s presentation.

Earlier coverage of the plans for the renovation is here.
