Both candidates in the Mecklenburg Sheriff’s race on the Nov. 4 ballot addressed the Forum this morning.
Democrat Irwin Carmichael and Republican Chris Hailey discussed their law enforcement backgrounds and their visions. And they critiqued the financial wisdom of each other’s plans for the office. In Mecklenburg, the sheriff is primarily responsible for running the jails, serving warrants and providing protection in court facilities.
