The Forum next meets on Jan. 3, 2017, with a “facilitated dialogue” led by Community Relations Executive Director Willie Ratchford “related to the officer involved shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott and the subsequent community reaction, including the ‘Letter of Commitment’ signed by over 2,000 people, and City Council’s ‘Letter To The Community.’”

Ariel Smith sent in a notice of 2017 election of officers of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Political Caucus, to be held Feb. 19. Application form here is due by Dec. 31 for those applying for any of 12 positions. Duties of each position are outlined in the Caucus’ bylaws.
