3 candidates in the March 3 Primaries

January 28, 2020 Candidates & Ballots

Jan. 28, 2020

Rev. Brenda Stevenson says she is listening to voters, and wants county government to respond. Two veteran legislators seeking re-election detailed how they believe Republican legislative leaders have failed to respond to North Carolina’s voters. The Forum session this morning bounced around a good bit as a result.

There were riveting moments, as when Carney recounted the chaos on the N.C. House floor during which GOP leaders rammed a state budget through the House on a day when those leaders had announced that no votes would be taken. And as when Mohammed said that citizen attacks on legislators, even on the outsides of envelopes, had become so hateful that he would no longer allow his own child to bring in the day’s mail from the mailbox.

In the video below, the presentations begin at minute 12:07. The Q&A begins at minute 24:00.
