Creating a nonprofit organization, and then funding it

January 7, 2020 Community & Housing

Susan Woods.

Jan. 7, 2020

Some of the first-time visitors to the Forum this morning were nonprofit wannabes: folks armed an idea who were looking for information on how to navigate the rules, the regulations and, perhaps most important, the financial uncertainties that go with operating as a nonprofit organization in profit-oriented America.

Susan Woods delivered.

In a presentation spiced with stories of personal experiences, Woods offered lots of warnings that nonprofit work is no cakewalk. And those who are indifferent to the rules often get cake in their face.

In the video below, the presentation begins at minute 10:01. The Q&A begins at minute 48:58.

Woods made available four handouts to Forum participants. Those materials are here.
