Tuesday’s speakers broke down barriers to African-Americans in the workplace by persevering despite harassment, unequal treatment and disrespect. Those are the war stories, and they are painful to listen to.

But Juanita Miller, Carolyn Logan and Ken Koontz also pressed Forum participants to reach back and help those who are coming behind, who need the support and encouragement they were denied.

They also issued a call for all to be on guard, to prevent organizations like the FBI and the Highway Patrol and other organizations from falling back into old discriminatory ways.
