Incumbent Dan Bishop, elected in 2022 in a district that did not include any Mecklenburg voters, is not running for re-election. His website lists district offices in Monroe and Salisbury, but not office hours. In November 2024, some Meck voters nearest Union County will be choosing a member of Congress for the 8th.
