Tonya Farrow-Chestnut sent in an announcement that a Brookings Institution survey team is seeking men willing to be confidentially interviewed by phone or Zoom for 90 minutes. The “How We Rise: Enhancing Social Mobility” project aims at understanding what led Charlotte to be ranked last among 50 cities in economic mobility. Interviewers will ask questions “designed to measure how individuals use their personal connections to access opportunities. You will be asked about who you discuss important matters with, such as child care, education, college and career readiness, jobs, and housing.” Participants who complete the interview will be offered a $50 gift card “as a show of appreciation.” To express interest, e-mail the team or use pre-interview sign-up form here. More information is on the project’s website and in a YouTube interview by Pastor Casey Crimmins with How We Rise Community Liaison George Metz, here.
