The Forum next meets on Jan. 6, 2015. The following announcements have accumulated since Dec. 23:

Jeri Thompson sent in an announcement that the Charlotte Post Foundation has raised $19,0000 toward its $75,000 campaign to raise funds “to improve educational outcomes in some of the city’s most underserved communities.” Website says funds will go toward afterschool programs. Randolph B. Muhammad sent in an announcement that he had published in the Journal of Research Initiatives at Fayetteville State University a paper based on an interview with “Ms. M” who is described in the paper as “a retired 34-year public schools educator and former union leader for Charlotte-Mecklenburg County schools teachers in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently, Ms M. is the school board’s ‘at-large’ member, elected in November 2011.” The article is here and at bepress.

Joyce Waddell sent in an invitation to her N.C. Senate District 40 swearing-in ceremony on Friday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the first floor atrium of the Government Center, 600 E 4th St. Parking is available in the Mecklenburg County parking deck. RSVP by e-mail.

Robert Dawkins sent in a link to his Agitator Radio show with N.C. Rep. Rodney Moore about his Prohibition of Discriminatory Profiling Bill.
