At a Forum focused on older adult and mental health issues and the organizations offering assistance, presenters offered wisdom, advice and references to groups that could help.

But they also laid on the table the reasons that they were attracted to the difficult social service and support callings that they have pursued. Teens not knowing what they want to do with their lives might find some inspiration by listening to the entire video below. And then, of course, following up with a group pursuing their interest and find a mentor.

Speakers and the groups they represented:

  • Ayo Johnson, Mental Health America of Central Carolinas
  • Kindl Detar, NC Dept. of Justice
  • Shaquana Hunt for Queens’ Social Justice Education Center
  • Jamila Green, YWCA
  • Mike Taylor for Centralina Council on Aging
  • LeDayne Polaski, MeckMin

As presenters send in supporting material on the subjects discussed, the files will be displayed below the video.
