Two newcomers, Felicia Thompkins and Charles Osborne, are offering County Commissioner District 2 and District 3 voters an alternative in the March 5 Democratic primary.

Serving those district today are longterm incumbents Vilma Leake in District 2 and George Dunlap in District 3. Neither was present this morning, with Leake having a schedule conflict and Dunlap being out of town.

The District 3 primary winner faces no opposition in November. The District 2 primary winner will face Republican Angela White Edwards, who lost to Leake in 2018 and 2022 when Edwards was a registered Democrat.
