Council primaries in District 5 and District 7

August 13, 2019 Candidates & Ballots

Chelsea Padgett, far right, represented District 7 Republican candidate Victoria Nwasike as, from left, District 5 Democrat Mark Vincent, District 7 Republican Ed Driggs and District 5 Democrat Matt Newton discussed issues in the City Council District primaries in Districts 5 and 7.

Aug. 13, 2019

The Forum focused today on the Republican primary in the District 7 City Council race, and the Democratic primary in the District 5 City Council race. Those are the only two Council primaries in those two districts.

On Sept. 10, District 5 Democrats will choose among Matt Newton, Vinroy Washington Reid and Mark Vincent. District 7 Republicans will choose between Ed Driggs and Victoria Nwasike. On Tuesday’s panel, campaign volunteer Chelsea Padgett repesented Nwasike.

In the video below, presentations by Newton and Driggs begin at minute 7:59. Presentations by Vincent and Padgett begin at minute 14:18. The Q&A begins at minute 11:08.
