Whither CMS? Issues on people’s minds after superintendent’s resignation

July 23, 2019 Education & Health

July 23, 2019

The entire Forum focused on what people had on their minds after the resignation of CMS Supt. Clayton Wilcox. As expected, there was plenty to talk about.

An e-mail to participants Monday night warned people not to expect new information about either the July 15 suspension of Dr. Wilcox, or his subsequent resignation July 19. The Board of Education has cited state privacy laws in declining to release any information about its decisions.

But District 4 school board member Carol Sawyer was present at the Forum, and spoke frequently, fielding questions about CMS policy and practice as the conversation weaved around. Topics included mentoring, leadership succession, teacher absences, PTAs and much more.

The questions and comments begin at minute 6:22.
