There were several engaging conversations at the Open Forum this morning. One was about nurturing entrepreneurship. Another was about reviving the understanding of the power of song.
But the highlight was watching Winston Robinson bring to a public audience his notion that the city should have a history museum in westside Charlotte focusing on the contributions of African-Americans.
Whether Robinson’s idea will take root is hard to tell. But once in a long while, a presentation at the Forum brings together people drawn to a simple idea.
The idea will take money and sponsors and advocates and researchers and a leader – and patience. A review of the presentation below will raise those issues, and more.
Robinson’s initial presentation of his idea begins at minute 23:10. Questions and comments on that and other subjects are throughout the video.
