Nakisa Glover on community engagement

January 17, 2017 Community & Housing

Nakisa Glover, left, was joined during the Forum’s Q&A session by four Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers from the Eastway Division: Officers T. Castano, P. Benloss, W. Propst and Lt. S. Durant.

Jan. 17, 2017

Nakisa Glover presented this morning about community engagement: about her work with national and local groups, about how best to take issues to the people, about her struggle to understand how to present the need for community action that addresses all the seemingly unrelated challenges facing the African-American community because, she says, they are all inherently related.

The video below captures Glover’s presentation, which begins at minute 20:50. Four Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers from the Eastway Division participated in the Q&A. They  introduce themselves at 51:13 and the Q&A begins at 52:53.

Below the video are the slides from Glover’s presentation.
