Fuller: Act now on issues behind last week’s Charlotte unrest

September 27, 2016 Education & Health

Sept. 27, 2016

Trevor Fuller is chairman of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners. He said this morning he grieves for “our community, that things got to a point where frustration boiled over…. Something is dreadfully wrong with this picture.”

Fuller went on to advocate for universal access to pre-kindergarten “so that every child in Mecklenburg County, from zero to 5, have a quality early childhood education no matter your economic condition. Let’s start there.”

Fuller said the county board’s meeting later Tuesday would be devoted entirely to discussion of county response to the unrest following the police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott.

The video below captures all of Fuller’s comments.
