Kevin Tully explains public defender’s office

Jan. 19, 2016

Kevin Tully, the appointed head of Mecklenburg’s public defender’s office, asked Forum participants first thing whether they had high confidence in the local justice system. Only a few hands were raised.

Tully’s argument in his short presentation today was that his office and the lawyers who work there are key to giving every person who enters the criminal justice system a fair shake.

After Tully’s presentation, a group from OneMeck presented their views on creating schools in CMS that work for all children. Then there was a Q&A. The second video below includes the entire Q&A, in which Tully participated occasionally, from beginning to end.

Both videos should be queued up to feature the material intended.
