Becky Carney announced that she, Rep. Rodney Moore and Rep. Bill Brawley had been named to the N.C. Speaker’s committee to consider legislation to arm teachers. She encouraged residents to e-mail those legislators with their views. She noted that both the Republican Superintendent of Public Instruction and Democratic Governor have announced their opposition.

Nakisa Glover announced that Girls Who Code is accepting applications from 10th- and 11th-grade girls for a free 7-week summer immersion program. Details here.
