Pineville Elementary and Read Charlotte teamed up for an effort to supplement in-class reading instruction with volunteer reading assistance. The result was pronounced recovery in reading skills among students after the pandemic. The video above suggests that lessons learned at Pineville are transferable and scalable – with enough funding and engaged volunteers, of course.
