MyFutureNC is a nonprofit following up on 2019 bipartisan N.C. legislation setting a goal that “2 million North Carolinians aged 25-44 hold an industry-valued credential or postsecondary degree by 2030.” There is a ways to go, and annual reports offer details.
More on the report is here. The group’s breakout of Mecklenburg data is here. One tidbit: While state goals are for 73% and 86% of 3rd-8th-graders to achieve college-and-career-ready scores on reading and math, Mecklenburg children in traditional public schools scored 30.0% and 38.9%, respectively.
