Intrepid Forum reader Sylvia Grier sent in a note that Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation has mailed out invitations asking residents to help tell the story of Mecklenburg County.

A report last fall published by WFAE made reference to the project. The county Parks website here says the county wants “stories from Mecklenburg County residents about the region’s history for the upcoming Semiquincentennial. Our goal is 250 stories for 250 years of history…. Record yourself using the video feature on your phone and email: MeckRoots@mecknc.gov.”
