The police shooting in Charlotte and the street protests that followed hung over the conversation at the Forum this morning. And well they should have.
For while the county commissioner candidates addressing the group have no direct say in police matters, they sit in the middle of the firestorm nonetheless. Their investment of public dollars have shaped – equitably or inequitably – school outcomes, social services, employment opportunities and health.
