McCreesh Place
and homelessness

Oct. 4, 2011

Sherry Waters-Wilson, left, and Pam Jefsen addressed the Forum Tuesday about McCreesh Place, a facility for formerly homeless men with disabilities.

The nonprofit opened a new wing of the North Davidson Street facility on Thursday evening, Oct. 6.

The presentation also ranged widely over the broader homeless services network, how different organizations address different pieces of the problem, and the role of the Charlotte Housing Authority as a source of operating funds for the facilities like McCreesh Place.

Jefsen brought two handouts, available here in PDF files: a cost comparison of various ways to house the homeless, and a chart outlining the continuum of care now available in Charlotte. The chart is legal sized.

Below are video excerpts of the presentations.
