Primary candidates for 12th District Congress

It was the morning after Charlotte City Council named Dan Clodfelter to become Charlotte's next mayor. Indeed, Clodfelter was present at the Forum and offered a short comment about his need for support as he moves Charlotte past the resignation of Patrick Cannon after an FBI sting ensnared Cannon in a public corruption scandal.

And so it was natural that the candidates appearing at the Forum faced questions about trust and competence and accountability that candidates earlier in the primary season did not face.

Three candidates in the two 12th District May 6 primaries appeared: Democrat George Battle, Republican Leon Threatt and Democrat Malcolm Graham.
