Christine Edwards announced a deadline extension to March 8 for the 2nd Annual Student Art Contest. Details here.
Andrew Knoblich announced that the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program is looking to place 500 youth as paid interns in area businesses for the summer. Details.
Qiana Austin announced that there was scholarship support available for students age 25 or older planning to attend CPCC. Go here, then type the word Gratitude into the search box. Deadline March 26.
Dawn Hill left an announcement that the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program is seeking physicians to host paid interns under the program for the summer. E-mail her.
Brenda Robinson announced that seats are open for children 9-18 at Aviation Camps of the Carolinas events April 16 at Charlotte airport and June 25 at Monroe airport. Goodwill hosts VITA tax assistance clinics through the week of April 13, Details.
Judith Brown observed that, in distributing material from a food drive, Project 70Forward found that half of Charlotte recipient families eligible for food assistance include a person with a disability. Half, not the national average of 25%.
