Alvin Wallace addressed the Forum Jan. 19 about "Youth Empowered to Bring Change," a mentoring program in its startup phase with a goal of enrolling 50 at-risk youth in three-hour Saturday sessions twice a month. Participating youth will earn points for attendance, raising grades and community involvement, with points converting to dollars in a savings account for their use at age 18.
